ABRAHAM’S CALL! LECH-LECHA (“Go forth!”)
Shabbat Shalom, and God bless!
This week, we continue our journey through the Scriptures with the Torah portion LECH-LECHA (לֶךְ־לְךָ), meaning “Go forth!”
These words are taken from the portion found in Genesis 12 where we read about the calling of Abram (Avram).
This portion reveals to us a major turning point in the biblical story of redemption since Noah’s (Noach’s) episode: God calling one man from the nations, establishing a covenant with him, promising that through his offspring, all the families of the earth will be blessed.
These promises are part of God’s plan since Genesis to reverse the curse.
From Abraham’s journey of faith we will continue to discover how the LORD unfolds His plan of salvation throughout the Scriptures.
Every Shabbat, we read and study the Torah, the Prophets, and the Gospels together to discover the unified story of the God of Israel, His covenant promises, and His plan of redemption through Yeshua our Messiah!
We learn the Story of Redemption, One Portion at a Time!
