NOACH! — From the Waters of Noah to the Coming of the Son of Man.
🕊️ Shabbat Shalom and God bless!
📖 Today’s Torah portion is NOACH (נֹחַ), meaning “Rest.” This portion is found in Genesis 6–11, where we read about Noah, the great flood, God’s covenant with Noah, and the scattering of the nations at the Tower of Babel.
Noah’s name (Rest) reminds us of the hope of relief in a world corrupted by sin. In today’s Torah portion, we will discover that even when humanity turns away from God, the LORD still remains faithful to His purposes, always preserves a remnant, establishes His covenant, and continues His plan to redeem the nations.
The story of Noah reveals the holiness of God, the seriousness of sin, divine judgment as well as God’s mercy and the promise of redemption. We will ultimately see that redemption unfold throughout Scripture and find its fulfillment in Yeshua (Jesus), our Messiah!
Every Shabbat, as we read from the Torah, the Prophets, and the Gospels together we do so to see one unified story: the God of Israel is carrying out His covenant purposes, preserving His creation, and bringing salvation through His appointed Redeemer, Yeshua!
Every week, we learn the Story of Redemption, One Portion at a Time! 👇🏼
