KI TETZE (כִּי־תֵצֵא) — When You Go Out: Covenant Faithfulness, Holiness, Redemption, and the Return

This week’s Torah portion (Parashah) is Ki Tetze - kee TAY-tsay (כִּי־תֵצֵא), meaning “When you go out.”
Which comes from the opening words of Deuteronomy 21:10: “When you go out to war against your enemies…”
A chapter that covers what Israel was to do regarding war. Marriage. Family and Justice.
The Lord is teaching Israel how a redeemed people are supposed to live. As we read today we are reading about how the second generation is getting ready to enter the promised land.
They are being called to establish a community whose everyday life reflects the holiness, justice, mercy, and character of the Lord. And that call reaches into ordinary life.
