KORACH The rebellion of Korah: When Pride Rebels Against God's Order, Humility Leads to Life.

Today’s Torah portion is called “Korach” (קֹרַח), or Korah, named after the Levite who led one of the greatest rebellions in Israel’s wilderness journey against Moses.

In Korah’s mind he believed he was fighting for equality and fairness, but it was cloaked in jealousy, pride and self exaltation. Korah wasn’t just challenging Moses, He was challenging God’s authority by rejecting the leaders God Himself had appointed.

This portion reminds us that the greatest danger is not always opposition from outside God’s people. Sadly, sometimes the greatest danger comes from pride and jealousy within.

How would we respond in a way that pleases the Lord?

Would we defend ourselves, or pray and let God defend us?
